As the economy moves out of recession, businesses of all sizes are placing renewed emphasis on networking as part of their sales efforts. Carol WildingCarol Wilding was appointed President and CEO of the Toronto Board of Trade in 2007. Prior to assuming her current position, Ms. Wilding was the President of the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation, and President and CEO of Foster Parents Plan Canada (now Plan Canada).

Since Ms. Wilding's appointment, the Toronto Board of Trade has intensified its city-building efforts: promoting economic and community prosperity, advocating for sustainable infrastructure to maintain Toronto's thriving business community, and strengthening local and regional governance to enhance Toronto's economic competitiveness.

A fellow to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, Ms. Wilding is a director on the boards of the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto City Summit Alliance and Pickering College. She was a member of the Mayor's Economic Competiveness Advisory Committee from 2007 to 2008.

Ms. Wilding has earned several prestigious awards including the Outstanding Public Contribution Alumni Award from the Schulich Business School, Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and Public Sector Excellence Award for Technology.

Ms. Wilding holds a Honours degree in Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Founded in 1845, the Toronto Board of Trade is Canada's largest local chamber of commerce. The Board advances the success of its members and the Toronto region by facilitating opportunities for knowledge sharing, networking, business development and city building.
